2:00 The METeOR Project: Developing Metadata Techniques For Whole-Of-Government Use
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s Metadata Online Registry (METeOR) is an entirely web-based system for managing data standards in the health, community services and housing assistance sectors. At present, 35 government agencies and non-government organisations are actively participating in online data standard creation using the METeOR system. In this session, METeOR’s Project Manager will examine:
- The importance of collaboration and consultation with stakeholders
- Customising existing content management systems to serve as a data standards registry
- Encouraging whole-of-government participation by developing reusable data standards that can be used across multiple agencies
- Developing methods for maintaining control capabilities, audit trails, record keeping and security
- Achieving usable services in a whole-of-government environment
